The Intern Diaries

Are you a UTS student and an intern? As part of an ongoing series, The Intern Diaries invites you to write a 300-400 word journal-style blog post, reflecting on your unique internship experience and sharing your advice.

The Intern Diaries Contribution Guidelines

The Intern Diaries exists to empower UTS students in their application for, and completion of internships. We hope to inspire all UTS students to gain internship experience during their degree. Accordingly, please find the terms and conditions for submission below:

  • This opportunity is only open to all currently enrolled UTS students or UTS alumni.
  • All written content submitted must be the work of the individual submitting it.
  • The piece must be strictly 300-400 words in length.
  • Do not criticise or slander a company, organisation, employer or individual.
  • Do not provide false or misleading information.
  • Do not write about conduct that is unprofessional, inappropriate, or irrelevant.
  • If asked you must provide an author bio and a professional, high quality photo of yourself to accompany your article.
  • If there are any images, GIFs or videos you would like to include in the post, please provide them alongside their source URL.
  • Each submission will be subject to editorial overview, and will not be published until both parties are satisfied.
  • Upon submitting an article, there is no guarantee that it will be posted to the blog.
  • Submissions should be uploaded as an editable Microsoft Word document.

General UTS Contributions

If you’re enthusiastic about sharing your experience, helping others get career-inspired, or imparting some employment wisdom, we’d love for you to contribute! Open to all UTS students, alumni and staff, we welcome a wide range of submissions – from pop-culture related career tips, to industry-relevant advice (and everything in between). So if you’re interested in helping others reach their career goals, become a Thought Leader and contribute today!

  • All written content submitted must be the work of the individual submitting it.
  • Submissions should be between 400-1000 words in length, as a general rule.
  • Do not criticise or slander a company, organisation, employer or individual.
  • Do not provide false or misleading information.
  • Do not write about conduct that is unprofessional, inappropriate, or irrelevant.
  • If asked you must provide an author bio and a professional, high quality photo of yourself to accompany your article.
  • Each submission will be subject to editorial overview, and will not be published until both parties are satisfied.
  • Upon submitting an article, there is no guarantee that it will be posted to the blog.

Employer and External Contributions

Our focus is on providing quality content and assistance to UTS students interested in preparing for their future careers. As such, we invite employers from all industries to share their advice, experience and expertise! If you’re interested in connecting with students, building brand awareness, and helping a new generation of future leaders we would love to hear from you!

Employer and External Contribution Guidelines

This blog is a space to share advice, tips and experiences with UTS students through quality content. Our goal is to help students reach their full potential, and take control of their career journey. As such, we have a simple set of guidelines for those who would like to contribute content to the blog:

  • This blog’s main objective is to provide students with quality career advice and expertise. As such, any sales-related content (including ad copy promoting an event or service) will not be suitable for this platform.
  • You must have a CareerHub account to submit (upon clicking the submit button below, be sure to click ‘Employer Login’ on the CareerHub portal, then enter your login credentials).
  • We invite genuine content that informs, assists, or entertains students. Personal stories, professional advice and interesting anecdotes are all great starting points.
  • All written content submitted must be the work of the individual or organisation submitting it.
  • Each submission will be subject to editorial overview, and will not be published until both parties are satisfied.
  • Submissions should be between 400-1000 words in length, as a general rule.
  • If there are any images, GIFs or videos you would like to include in the post, please provide them alongside their source URL.
  • Submissions should be accompanied by an author bio (either on behalf of the writer or company), as well as an author photo or company image (jpeg format, square shape). This will sit alongside the bio at the bottom of the post.
  • Upon submitting an article, there is no guarantee that it will be posted to the blog.
  • Submissions should be uploaded as an editable Microsoft Word document.
